Specification Review

The building specification and code for your home can be confusing. This is particularly frustrating if there are disagreements between the homeowner and the builder on whether something is built to the proper specification.

We will have a registered professional engineer perform a review of the home, and apply the relevant specifications to provide an opinion on whether the item(s) in question is built to the proper specifications.

What you can expect

You will have a professional engineer review the deficiencies, and advise whether it meets the proper standards.

We will produce a high quality report and call out specific sections of the building code or specification that relate to the deficiencies. Some examples include: the allowable gap between floor boards, the allowable cracking in concrete, and which air ducts should be insulated.

We are on your side, and will provide you with all of the information you need to ensure that the builder fixes the deficiencies prior to the end of their warranty period. If required, we can be directly involved in meetings or conference calls with the builder.
